My first priority for breeding small shelties is excellent health. I very carefully select my breeding dogs to ensure that I produce sturdy puppies who grow to be healthy long-lived adults. My beautiful little shelties have refined but sturdy builds, favoring that of the English sheltie. I breed for shelties that stand approximately 10 - 13 inches at the withers and 6 - 13 lbs. I occasionally have a pup that matures above or below this size range. All of my dogs have outstanding working drives, and as a result they make wonderful performance dogs. These dogs are active, fast, smart, and strong, with plenty of stamina. They are very affectionate and can be outstanding therapy dogs and companions. They are amazingly obedient and devoted. They are active when called upon to be so, but they are otherwise calm, quiet, and contented. They are small enough to sit in your lap. They are easy to travel with and can fit into a dog purse. My shelties are raised around children, horses, my collie, and cats, so they get along well with everyone.
All of my dogs are housedogs. They spend days downstairs with the family. They nap in the kitchen, play in the yard, and join me for hikes in the woods. A few sleep in my bed.
I feed my dogs premium quality food containing no corn, wheat, soy, or other low quality ingredients. More information on this subject can be found on the page titled "Nutrition."
I train my dogs in agility and obedience. I show my dogs in agility trials where they earn titles for performance. This proves their intelligence, and good health.
I am vice president of the Toy Sheltie Club of America. I also run Southeast Herding Breed Rescue as I believe that if you do not rescue then you should not breed. All of my dogs are registered with the American Kennel Club.
I have a thirty day refund policy on my dogs. If you decide that the dog is not a good match for your household, you are welcome to bring him back within thirty days of the adoption for a full refund of the price of the dog providing the dog is unharmed & all paperwork is returned.
