Sprightly Shelties
Welcome and good-day to you!  This is a small kennel located in the Blue Ridge foothills of Clemson, SC.  Here I breed fine working and pet quality small miniature and toy sized Shelties.

In breeding in breeding small shelties my first goal is excellent health.  I very carefully select my breeding dogs to ensure that I produce sturdy puppies who grow to be healthy long lived adults.  My beautiful little shelties have refined, but sturdy builds favoring that of the English sheltie.  I breed for shelties that stand aproximately 10 - 13 inches at the withers and 6 - 13 lbs.  I occasionally have a pup tht matures above or below this size range.  All of my dogs have outstanding working drives, and as a result they make wonderful performance dogs.  These dogs are active, fast, smart, and strong, with plenty of stamina.  They also are very affectionate, and can be outstanding therapy dogs and companions.  They are amazingly obedient and devoted.  They are active when called upon to be so, but they are calm, quite, and contented otherwise.  They are small enough to sit in your lap.  They are easy to travel with, and can fit into a dog purse.   My shelties are raised around children, ponies, my collie, and cats so they get along well with everyone.

The height of your shelties is very important when you are breeding for small shelties.  Many breeders incorrectly measure their dogs, and their dogs are actually larger than believed.  To prevent this problem with my dogs, I have my dogs measured by official AKC judges, and my dogs recieve official AKC height cards.

All of my dogs are housedogs.  They spend days downstairs with the family.  A few sleep in my bed.  They are never boarded, when I travel I take them with me.  I take them canoeing, hiking, camping, and biking, as well as other activities. If I travel my dogs go with me.

I feed my dogs Apex dog food for the reason that it is a premium quality food containing no corn, wheat, soy, or other low quality ingredients.  More information on this subject can be found on the page titled "Nutrition."

I train my dogs in agility and obedience.  I show my dogs in agility trials where they earn titles for performance.

I am a member of the
Toy Sheltie Club of America. I also run Southeast Herding Breed Rescue as I believe that if you do not rescue then you should not breed.  All of my dogs are registered with the American Kennel Club.

I have a thirty day refund policy on my dogs.  If you decide that the dog is not a good match for your household, you are welcome to bring him back unharmed within thirty days of the adoption for a full refund of the price of the dog.  Depending on the circumstances I may give full or partial refunds or a replacement pup after the 30-days has ended. I will ship to approved homes and I have successfully shipped many pups and dogs.

It is very important to me that any puppies that I have for sale find wonderful homes that are suited to their individual temperaments.  For this reason I have a selective adoption proccess.
